The Role:

As the QA Engineer you will be responsible for the testing of software and new applications and providing feedback on the results. You will be supported by the team, but you are expected to be a confident independent worker who takes responsibility for their day-to-day work in the future.

Functions will also include:

  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases to ensure that the developed code works as intended

  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools

  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs

  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved

  • Participating in workshops covering business requirements, functional requirements and technical solutions

  • Collaborating with the wider team of Developers and Software Engineers

  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies


What are we looking for in a QA Engineer? What's important?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

  • Basic knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes

  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases

  • Experience with one development language such as PHP, Java, Python, JavaScript, C++, R or Go.

  • Experience with software development

  • Good communication skills - ability to present information and explain outcomes to other team members

  • Ability to use initiative in researching information - independent learning style

  • Preferred knowledge of SQL and scripting

  • Preferred experience of working with GCP environments
